Firefox – Important tool for internet businesses

Using Firefox to find profitable niches

Today I would like to discuss why Firefox is the best browser to use for niche marketing. The bane of all marketers is the amount of time it takes to complete tasks and gather information that is necessary for analyzing keywords and website performance. This browser is light years ahead of IE.

The coolest feature is the ability to install add-ons to the browser. And believe me the add-ons are fabulous time savers!  And time IS money to a successful niche marketer. To install the add-ons just click on the links in this article to go directly to the add-on website. They are super easy to install.

The first thing that I love about Firefox is the Session Manager add-on. This is a huge time saver if you are like me and usually have multiple tabs open to perform your daily routines.

So you can see that I have Facebook, my WordPress Dashboard, Social Marker, Google Analytics and Twitter all open in my tabs. These are sites that I use every day to perform the necessary duties of niche marketing. When I am finished at the end of a session I do not close each tab separately. Instead I just click to close the entire browser. A box will then pop up and ask if I want to save and quit, quit or cancel. I always click the “save and quit” option.

Now comes the time saver. The next time I open Firefox it will ask me if I want to “restore session”. If I click on that, my browser will open up with all of the tabs open as it was when I closed the browser. Now this may not seem like a big deal to you, but to me it saves about 5 minutes of my time every morning and gets me focused on work the moment I open my browser. I don’t have to find any bookmarks to go back to what I was doing; I don’t have to search through history to find sites; I don’t have to write myself reminders to finish up what I was working on because it is all there in front of me. Less distractions means more money!

SEO for Firefox

The next Add-on you should install is called SEO for Firefox

Seo fo Firefox will give you valuable information on your website and the websites of your competition

Seo for Firefox will give you valuable information on your website and the websites of your competition

You can’t compete if you do not know where you stand or what you are up against. Once you have the SEO for Firefox add-on installed you can now gather a ton of information from Google about your website and compare it to the numbers of the competition. The shaded area under each search result will give you information such as the page rank, domain age, the last time Google crawled the site, how many backlinks the site has, etc. Once you understand why your competition is in the position they are in you can then work at positioning yourself in a higher rank. For example, if the site has 546 backlinks then you should strive to get 547. This will place you higher in Google’s ranking for that keyword. There isn’t much you can do about domain age unless you have the means to purchase an aged out domain name. Use the information in the SEO for Firefox data to decide whether a keyword is a realistic goal or if you need to dig deeper to find a more refined micro niche with less competition.
